Tang Court Lady
This slender, elegant figure with
its rare costume and hairstyle is the representation of court
life of Tang Dynasty. This kind of dancing ladies is considered to
be very rare comparing to the fat ladies which have flooded the
market in recent years.
A pair of similar figures with
different hairstyle is in the Asian Collections in the Art Gallery
of New South Wales, also, two similar figures, one of which is
in the Musee Guimet, another one in the Metropolitan Museum of
Arts.
This piece has Oxford University's
thermoluminescence analysis report for authenticity.
