You-Bai Chen was born on an art family, His father was renowned for painting in China in 1930'. So Chen had acquaintance with basic painting as a child, for example: ZOU-REN WE, president of Central Art College; QUAN-YU YE, Professor of Central Art College; DING ZHANG, President of Chinese Industrial Art College. They are famous in current painting circle. After following these older artists, chen grew up rapidly on art road. Chen graduated from Art Department of HER BEI Teachers University in 1986 and Chinese Decoration Art University in 1988.

Based on loving Chinese traditional art, Chen went to the Chinese art treasury-DUN HUNG MOKAOCAVES IN 1965. He created painting and researched DUN HUANG art there for nearly 20 years. For this reason, Chen focuses his painting subject on Buddhism and traditional folklore of DUN HUANG art. Chen's painting style is flying, delicate and contains rhythmic poetry. Besides that, his performance technique is combined classic elaborate heavy color with contemporary changeful shape art. Chen's painting is always covered with mysterious Buddhism tone, but forms a beautiful picture of heaven

Chen is diligent in painting and decoration works. Chen is also an exhibitor of provincial or national exhibition of painting. Outside China, Chen exhibited the fresco painting of SHAN JING BEING LU Temple in Japan in 1986. Chen's works were collected by many appreciators from all over the world
