Ping earned a BA in Chinese
Literature from the East China Normal University and a BFA in
sculpture from the College of Fine Arts, Shanghai University.

| Ping Ping has shown a fascination and talent for sculpture and
painting since his early childhood. His works communicate his personal
expression of the weakness and frustration humans feel within the
personal environments they construct within their own minds. He
gives two voices to his expression, which he refers to as "City
Mood" and "Country Sight." Through the solid, unshakable artistic
form Ping shows the internal fight within each person to overcome
feelings of fear, helplessness, confusion, self-centered hope and
pity, security in clinging to the past, and the temptation of self-destructive
desires. Through is work, Ping con-templates the lunacy of man's
attempt to find the God in him while circumscribing himself within
a labyrinth of arbitrary criteria. |
