Zhang graduated from department of sculpture of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. In 1979, she took a refresher course in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts for one and a half year. She has been working as a teacher in Hubei Academy of Fine Arts up to now. Her works were taken part in the Sixth China National Artwork Exhibition, the Second National Sports Artwork Exhibition, the Artwork Exhibition of Fourth U.N. World Women Conference, and few other exhibitions.
